Military deployment affects many families. As a result, every year, thousands of women give birth without their husband by their side. Although military spouses are resilient and independent people, they could also use a helping hand every now and then.

As a person who has personally seen her spouse deployed overseas, I know the emotional stress and burden it puts on a military family. My husband was deployed to Iraq in early 2003...on Valentine's Day of all days! During that time, it was too dangerous to communicate through phone calls or email, so our only option was to send hand-written letters to each other. Because his unit was constantly on the move, it took a really long time for the letters to be delivered. So a month or two would go by without hearing back from him.

Like many other military wives and girlfriends, it was, honestly, one of the most difficult times in my life. I found myself worrying about his safety every single moment, knowing that he was sent into a dangerous war zone, fighting for our country. My imagination would start to run wild and I always feared the worst. But thankfully, he returned home safely and is now officially retired from the Marine Corps. One deployment was enough for us!

Operation Shower is a non-profit organization that I absolutely love! Because they understand what military families go through, especially new moms, they help these families take a break from the stress of deployment and enjoy themselves. The baby showers that they host gives these families the gratitude, love and respect that they deserve.

bebé owl proudly supports Operation Shower and will donate a portion of our profits to this wonderful organization. We appreciate all the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces. Thank you for everything that you do for us!
